She Returns

It was a hot day, a day not so different than most along the gold coast. I walked along the sands and watched as the wind blew the grains past my feet, side to side like some serpent from times past. I could smell the sweet sent of gardenia's floating on the breeze, the sounds of the island stirring to escape the sun's hot breath. I paused for a moment and gazed out at the clear surrilian sea, I stood in awe at her beauty.

I watched as the waves caressed one another, soft then hard across the sands of time to life's end as they washed upon my feet. I walked past the cove where I had spent so many warm eve's with her, I could still smell the sweet scent of her skin as I sat upon the sands, it was a scent like none I have known before, mysterious it was, yet so familiar in some way. I remember the first night we lay upon the sand, warm was the earth beneath us, sounds of sea and moon, life and love surrounded us. I still remember the first kiss, it was as though a god had spoke without speaking, visions of splendor filled my head as our lips pressed one upon another.

We lay in that cove on the warm sand till dawn broke, we had slipped into one another many times that evening, each time different yet familiar in some way we had been one and would be forever. She left on the ship the following day, she said that she would never forget our eve's spent together on the warm sand beneath the moon lit sky, she said she would return some day and partake in the splendor of the night with me again..............Today she return's.
